Sherbert is a decision maker for couples. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who can see it, and how you can delete it.
Sherbert is made by Mazyte Studio (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Sherbert iPhone app and this website, sherbert.app.
If you have a question about your information, email mazytestudio@gmail.com.
A few product counters (for example that a first item was added) are stored only in UserDefaults on your iPhone. They are not sent to us, and they are not used for advertising.
Sherbert does not ask for your location, contacts, health data, payment details, or browsing history outside the app. There is no advertising, no advertising identifier, and no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not use a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
Photos come only from images you pick. The photo library permission is used to attach a picture you choose to an item, or to the Home image. Sherbert does not scan your photo library.
We use information to:
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Until you pair, the collection lives with your account and on your phone. After your partner joins with a pairing code, shared items, photos, rooms, votes, matches, spins, and history are visible to both of you and stay in sync.
Items, rooms, and results marked just for you stay limited to the account that created them. They are not shown to your partner.
When you sign in, Sherbert uses Google Firebase to store and deliver the service:
Google processes this information for us so the app can work. Google’s privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Firebase may process and store data in the United States, including the us-east1 region, and in other locations Google operates.
We do not share your information with anyone else except where the law requires it, or where you ask us to.
The app keeps a copy on your iPhone so you can keep using your collection. Signing in also saves that space in Firebase, which is what lets a partner join and lets you open the same space on another sign-in.
A pairing code created before you sign in stays on that phone. Signing in with email is what makes a code usable from your partner’s phone.
Transmission between the app and Firebase uses HTTPS.
Notifications are optional. iOS asks before the app can send them, and you can turn categories off inside Sherbert or turn notifications off in iOS Settings. Alerts can cover mutual matches, shared rooms and spins, collection changes, favourites and seen items, and a partner joining. We use them to tell you what changed in your space, not to advertise.
We keep account and space information while your account exists and the space still needs it.
You can delete your account in the app, in Settings. You do not need to email us first. Deleting your account:
You can also, without deleting the account:
Uninstalling the app removes the copy on that phone. It does not delete a cloud account. Use Delete account in Settings, or email mazytestudio@gmail.com from the address on the account if you cannot open the app and want the account removed.
If you are in the UK or the EEA, you can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold, ask us to correct it, or object to a use that is not required to run the app. We will respond to requests sent to the email above.
Sherbert is a couples app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
sherbert.app is a static site about the app. It does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or an account. Your browser may still record standard server logs with the host that serves the site, such as an IP address, the page requested, and a user agent. Those logs are used to operate and secure the site.
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the date below. The URL stays https://sherbert.app/privacy, which is the privacy policy link for the App Store listing.
